Most of the Red Sea's best sites are only reached by boat.
The Boat Diver specialty makes every boat day easier and safer: where to put your gear, how to enter and exit the water, and how to follow the boat's procedures like an experienced diver.
What you will learn
- Boat terminology and where everything goes on board.
- Boat diving entries and exits, including ladders.
- Using descent and ascent lines and dive-site markers.
- Developing a dive plan for a boat dive and stowing your equipment.
How the course runs
- Knowledge development: PADI eLearning at your own pace, or a classroom session with your instructor.
- 2 boat dives with your instructor, including a safety stop of 3 minutes at 5 metres on every dive. Open water dives take place in the sea in Jeddah or Dammam.
- On completion you receive the PADI Boat Diver certification.

Before you start
- Minimum age: 10 years.
- Prerequisite: PADI Open Water Diver (or Junior Open Water Diver), or an equivalent certification.
