The IDC Staff Instructor course is run by the Diving Secrets Center PADI Course Director. It prepares you to assist on Instructor Development Courses (IDC): presenting, coaching and evaluating instructor candidates — and it is the step toward Master Instructor and Course Director.
What you will learn
- Assisting the Course Director during an IDC.
- Evaluating candidate teaching presentations: knowledge development, confined water and open water.
- Coaching candidates and giving professional feedback.
- Teaching the PADI Assistant Instructor course.
How the course runs
- IDC Staff Instructor training with the Diving Secrets Center Course Director.
- Practical evaluation workshops and exams.
- After the course, your application is submitted to PADI to receive the IDC Staff Instructor rating.

Before you start
- Minimum age: 18 years.
- Prerequisites: PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer (MSDT) and Emergency First Response Instructor.
